Louise Bonnet

Louise Bonnet (b. 1970, Geneva) is a visual artist based in Los Angeles. She studied at the Haute école d’art et de design in Geneva and moved to Los Angeles in 1994. Initially working in illustration and graphic design, she launched her artistic career with a solo exhibition in 2008. Her style is characterized by distorted, often melancholic figures that convey intense emotional tension and existential humor. Through her paintings, she explores themes such as awkwardness, desire, and isolation, drawing influence from Renaissance art and surrealist traditions. Her work has been exhibited in prominent galleries and museums internationally, including Gagosian and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
