Marina Karella
Marina Karella (born 1940) is a Greek painter and sculptor, who began her career making costumes and scenary for the theatre and the cinema. In 1960, Karélla was enrolled at the Athens School of Fine Arts, then continued with her studies at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg, having also trained under notable artists like Oskar Kokoška and Giánnis Tsaroúchis. In the 70’s she settles in Paris and then in New York where she meets Alexandros Iolas and shows her work in his Gallery. Her works are to be found in Museums and private collections all over the world such as Centre Pompidou (Paris-France), Menil Collection (New York-USA), Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art (Thessaloniki-Greece), National Gallery (Athens-Greece), Yokohama Centre (Yokohama-Japan).
