Maganias Deanna

DeAnna Maganias uses mixed media (sculpture, video, painting, and photography) to most effectively communicate the ideas behind each construction. Often in her work, abstracted utilitarian spaces evolve from various states of mind. In many objects, she uses scale models to manipulate microcosms that undermine an ostensibly predictable reality. She was born in Washington D.C, in 1967. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, with Roni Horn and at the Cooper Union, New York where she studied with Hans Haake.
